There will be a poster competition as well as lightning talks with prizes for the winning presentations. Click here to see the 2024 symposium webpage.
This 3-part workshop series was developed to facilitate more productive writing partnerships. In the first part, students and advisors separately explore the barriers experienced when working together on a shared assignment (such as an abstract, or manuscript for publication). They will then work together over the next few weeks on a short writing assignment where the student writes and the advisor provides feedback. The mentor/mentee pair will then join with the workshop leader, Kristina Quynn, and discuss ways to refine and improve the process. The workshop wraps up with all parties together to reflect and share their experiences. Mentor/mentee pairs are encouraged to complete this workshop early in their mentoring relationship.
