Many clinical, social, and basic science researchers understand the value of public support but do not think they regularly have opportunities for public engagement or feel confident in their abilities to conduct such work. Dr. Brian Southwell is a social scientist, program director, faculty member, and public radio show host who will discuss what we know about the public’s understanding of science, how we can address scientific misinformation, and ideas to keep in mind in building new forums for science translation.
